There are several latching methods used in StowAway Retractable Screens. The magnet latch which is the standard, the grabber which does not rust, or the internal magnet latch which is not visible so they are sleeker than the others.
Retractable Screens are spring driven so they tend to speed up as they retract back into the housing unit resulting in an unpleasant slamming noise and the occasional pinched finger, a Speed Reducer counter acts the spring and allows the screen to gently glide back. When you purchase a StowAway Retractable Screen you can choose to have a Hydraulic Speed Reducer, Geared Speed Reducer, or you can choose not to use one.
