Foreclosed Homes Pose Increased Summer Threat
Officials throughout Southern California Issue West Nile Virus Warnings and urge residents to take precautions!

Another unfortunate side effect of the many foreclosed homes in the Inland Empire and throughout Southern California are the many partially empty and stagnate pools and the increased threat they pose. Stagnant pools pose a significant risk because they become
ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

While the weather in California is ideal, it is also perfect for the “optimal development” of West Nile Virus with more than 109 days of temperatures above 57 degrees Fahrenheit.

West Nile Virus is a serious mosquito-born illness which can, in some cases, cause serious neurological damage and even death. The virus is typically spread by the bite of infected mosquitoes. California is known to have three species of mosquitoes able to carry the WNV.

Adding to the problem, stagnant pools must be repeatedly treated to stop mosquito production. The number of partially filled pools is sizable and vector control does not have the means or authority to drain or continually treat each pool.

Health officials suggest residents protect themselves by wearing repellant as well as securing their homes from the mosquitoes by making sure every door and window is covered by a well fitting screen.

To be honest in our opnion- StowAway is a better product all around. The future with StowAway Retracting Screens is very clear while the future with Clear View was not. The switch to the StowAway brand allows Classic Home Improvement products to still service all existing Clear View customers from over the years with a customer database of over 15,000 customers and growing daily. We are a huge operation at Classic Home Improvement Products with our name on the line. We can not afford to offer you a product that we no longer believe to be the best on the market. The Clear View was the best screen on the market…but over the years when StowAway was making improvement after improvement….Clear View began to settle in the dust and get left behind as the original model screen.

StowAway advantages and sleek design in our opinion far surpass the lack of innovation from Clear View screens. StowAway has internal magnets while Clear View does not, StowAway offers 3 closing options, the speed reducer, the gear close or the original fast close. In our installation experience the Clear View speed reducer always leaked and ours does not, the powder coating would chip and peel off as they dwindled their inventory during the economy downfall by powdercoating over navajo and sending it out as black…but forgetting the one step of sandblasting before painting them black. – ohh woops.
